Requesting an Asset in Your Project

Every great project runs on the right gear at the right time. Whether it’s a crane, a concrete mixer, or just those much-needed helmets, the Request Asset feature makes sure you never have to say, We’re waiting on equipment.

Here’s how you can grab what you need in just a few clicks:

 Open the Asset Request Page

  • Jump into the Project Mastergrid and pick your project.

  • Head over to the Assets tab.

  • Hit the shiny Request Asset button.

A half-canvas slides in, like your personal catalog of everything available.

 Find What You Need

  • Search Bar – Already know what you need? Just type it in.

  • Quick Selection – Browsing? Tick the checkboxes next to each item.

Done selecting? Click Select Asset to move forward.

Review & Configure Your Request

After selection, the system displays a Selected Asset half-canvas page. Here, you can confirm details and make customizations before submitting:

  • Asset Name – The item you’re requesting (e.g., Concrete Mixer).

  • Asset Type – Whether it’s an Individual item or part of a Bulk group.

  • Available Quantity – Shows how many units are currently available.

  • Requested Quantity – Enter the exact number of items needed.

  • Approximate Return Time – Set a realistic return duration by entering a value and selecting the unit (Hours, Weeks, or Months).

Pro tip: Set return times around project milestones—future you will thank you.

Submit & Lock It In

Click Request Asset and voilà—your request is officially logged with all the details, including:

  • Asset Name: The specific name of the item you’re requesting (e.g., Safety Helmet).

  • Asset Category: The group/type the asset belongs to (e.g., PPE, Machinery).

  • Asset ID: A unique code that identifies the asset in the system.

  • Status: The current stage of the asset request (e.g., Requested, Approved).

  • Asset Type: Whether the asset is requested individually or in bulk.

  • Requested Quantity: The number of units you need for the project.

  • Ownership Type: Defines if the asset is Owned or Rented.

  • Requested By: The person or role making the request.

  • Approximate Return Time: The expected time by when the asset will be returned.

What Happens Next?
Here’s the journey your request takes:

  1. The Asset Manager reviews the request.

  2. Based on availability, the request may be Approved or declined.

  3. You can track the status anytime from the asset list in your project.

Pro tip: Treat asset requests like booking tickets the earlier and clearer you are, the smoother your project runs.
