Adding an Item from BOQ Items in IntoAEC
Think of BOQ (Bill of Quantities) items as the building blocks of your project — every brick, every fixture, every task has its place. IntoAEC makes adding these items less about hunting through lists and more like curating your project’s blueprint with precision.
Here’s how you do it step by step:
Begin the Journey
Inside your Selection, click the bold Add Item button.
From the options, choose From BOQ Items.

Instantly, a Library Off-Canvas Page opens — your central hub for structured BOQ data.
Explore Your Two Libraries
When the library opens, you’ll see two neatly organized shelves:
My Items → Your personal BOQ collection (items you’ve added).
Library Items → Standardized BOQ items that come pre-loaded with the system.
By default, the My Items section opens, making it quick to pick from your own curated set.
Narrow the Hunt With Filters
Instead of scrolling endlessly, use smart filters to instantly refine your search:
Category → Broad classification (e.g., Electrical, Civil, Plumbing).
Subcategory → Drill down further (e.g., Wiring, Flooring, Fixtures).
Type of Work → Choose the relevant discipline (e.g., Installation, Testing, Painting).
Hit Apply, and watch the library update with pinpoint accuracy.
Select & Add to Your Selection
Spot the right BOQ item.
Click Add → and the item instantly appears inside your Created Selection.

Manage Your BOQ Items Like a Pro
Inside your selection, each BOQ item is fully interactive:
Edit → Opens an off-canvas edit page where you can tweak details (name, description, type of work, etc.). Click Update to save changes.
Delete → A confirmation popup asks: “Are you sure you want to delete this item?” → Yes = gone forever, No = safe and sound.
Preview → A read-only window shows essentials: Item Name, Quantity, Unit, and Total Amount — perfect for a quick check without changes.
End Result: By leveraging BOQ items, you’re not just filling a list — you’re structuring your project with clarity, consistency, and control. Every edit, delete, or preview is like fine-tuning your project’s DNA.
